KUPFERBERG HOLOCAUST RESOURCE CENTER

Bayside, NY

Every history center knows the challenge of talking about the past is making it resonate with the present. EXP helped the Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center do exactly that with its turnkey design-build services. Matching the unflinching tone already established at the Center, EXP zoned in thematically on Kristallnacht-or, Night of Broken Glass-when the Nazis destroyed the homes and businesses of Jewish people throughout Germany. Static graphics, wayfinding signage, multimedia, and moveable exhibits on castors all center around key Holocaust artifacts and an expansive oral history collection to create an authentic, enriching experience that challenges visitors to see connections between one of history's worst atrocities and the nature of hate crimes today.
